I made my concerns about AZ known last week, and the comment thread it inspired made it pretty clear that I'm not alone in my disillusionment with the project.
I don't want to up and walk away from the project, but given the obvious lack of interest from the newsvine community on one hand and from anyone else at AZ on the other hand (I'm not talking about the editors, you guys are doing what you can - but I don't see a community there, at least not in the section where I was working) I don't see much of a choice. I may still participate over there I may not, but I am officially resigning from my role as coordinator for the Nonfiction segment. Apologies to anyone for whom this makes life more difficult, but I have realized I'm not qualified to head this up - especially in the face of a general loss of interest in the community.
As I made clear in my other article, I don't blame anyone else in the newsvine community - I think that the logistics of this endeavor were a little sketchy and the cost/benefit ratio was daunting to say the least. Anyway, I just wanted to come clean.
